Satin Black, Front to Rear
Project Focus
The Satin Black finish is the focus of this 540i project. Wide front and rear views follow the black bodywork around the sedan, while the hood and fender details show the softer highlights of the satin surface.
3M vinyl supplies the Satin Black color change. XPEL XR Black window tint completes the pair of services.
The Satin Finish Up Close
3M Satin Black Vinyl Wrap
3M Satin Black vinyl gives the 540i its exterior finish. The hood detail shows the satin surface around the BMW roundel and toward the grille.
Vinyl changes the exterior appearance. Satin vinyl and matte paint protection film are different materials; vinyl does not provide the same stone-chip impact protection as PPF.
XPEL XR Black Window Tint
XPEL XR Black window tint was part of this BMW 540i project.
Dark side glass contrasts with the Satin Black rear-quarter panel in this close view.

Project Questions
Is the Satin Black finish on this BMW 540i documented as 3M vinyl?
Yes. The project source identifies 3M Satin Black vinyl wrap as the exterior color-change material.
Was XPEL XR Black window tint included?
Yes. XPEL XR Black window tint is documented alongside the 3M Satin Black vinyl wrap.
Is satin vinyl the same as matte PPF?
No. This BMW 540i uses Satin Black vinyl. Matte PPF is paint protection film; the finish appearance does not make the two materials interchangeable.
Does vinyl physically protect paint like PPF?
Vinyl is primarily a color-change material. Paint protection film provides a physical film barrier intended for road-debris and stone-chip impacts; vinyl does not offer the same impact protection.
When can newly tinted movable windows be lowered?
Toyz’s standard is to keep newly tinted movable windows up on installation day. Normal window operation may resume the following day.
