XPEL WINDOW TINT · IRVINE & ORANGE COUNTY
Stay Cooler Without Losing Clarity
Professionally installed XPEL automotive window film for drivers who want a calmer cabin, useful UV protection and a shade that fits the way they actually drive.
Performance does not have to look dark. Lighter high-performance film can preserve an open cabin feel.
WHY WINDOW TINT
Comfort You Notice Every Time You Drive
Window film is not only about a darker appearance. The right product can help manage heat, glare and UV exposure while preserving clear outward visibility.
Heat Management
Reduce the solar load entering through large glass areas and help the cabin feel more comfortable.
UV Protection
Current XPEL USA specifications list 99% UV rejection across these PRIME film families.
Glare Control
Choose a shade that reduces harsh light while respecting nighttime visibility and local requirements.
Interior Care
Window film can help reduce one contributor to fading and deterioration of interior materials.
COMPARE XPEL PRIME FILMS

UNDERSTAND VLT
Shade Is About Light, Not a Simple Heat Score
VLT means Visible Light Transmission: the percentage of visible light that passes through. A higher number looks lighter; a lower number looks darker.
GLASS COVERAGE
Define the Panels Before You Define the Package
“Full tint” can mean different things. A clear estimate should identify every included glass area.
Windshield
Light film can improve comfort with minimal visible darkening.
Front Two Windows
A common choice for comfort or coordinating with rear privacy glass.
Side & Rear Glass
Coverage varies with quarter glass and vehicle design.
Sunroof / Panoramic Roof
Large roof glass is quoted separately after panel confirmation.
FACTORY GLASS VS WINDOW FILM
Dark Glass Does Not Automatically Mean Ceramic Performance

Factory Privacy Glass
Privacy glass is tinted within the glass itself and may create a darker appearance. Its heat-rejection characteristics vary by vehicle and are not automatically equivalent to ceramic film.
Heat-Rejecting Window Film
Aftermarket film adds a measured product layer to the glass. It can be selected for comfort, UV rejection, glare control and appearance—even when the factory glass is already dark.

THE TOYZ INSTALLATION PROCESS
Film Quality Matters. Installation Matters Too.
A high-performance film can only perform and look right when the glass is properly prepared and the installation is carefully completed.
Coverage Confirmation
Year, make, model, glass areas, privacy glass, film and preferred shade.
Film & Shade Selection
Compare HP Black, XR Black and XR Plus around comfort goals, appearance and budget.
Interior Protection
Protect nearby surfaces, then clean and prepare the glass to reduce contamination.
Precision Installation
Use an appropriate vehicle-specific pattern and installation method for each panel.
Final Inspection
Review edges, alignment, visible contamination, window operation and overall appearance.
Care Guidance
Provide curing instructions and register eligible XPEL installations under the current process.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER INSTALLATION
Window Film Needs Time to Cure
Automotive window film uses a moisture-based installation process. Temporary haze, small water pockets or moisture patterns can be normal while the film dries.
During the first 48 hours
- Do not lower newly tinted roll-down windows.
- Do not press, pick or manipulate film edges.
- Do not try to push out moisture pockets.
- Avoid cleaning the inside of the tinted glass.
Over the next one to three weeks
- Curing speed varies with temperature and humidity.
- Film type, glass position and vehicle design also matter.
- Small contamination can be more visible on dark film under certain lighting.
- Contact Toyz if a condition looks unusual or does not improve.

Understand the Rules Before Choosing a Shade
California rules differ by windshield, front side windows, rear windows and vehicle configuration. Regulations and enforcement can change. Toyz can explain product characteristics, but the customer remains responsible for choosing a compliant configuration.
This page provides general product information and is not legal advice. Toyz Detail Studio does not guarantee that a particular shade or configuration will prevent a citation.

Explore all FAQsWhat is VLT?
Visible Light Transmission is the percentage of visible light that passes through the film. Higher VLT looks lighter; lower VLT looks darker. Final VLT also depends on the original glass.
Is darker tint always better at rejecting heat?
No. Film technology matters more than darkness alone. A light high-performance ceramic film may reject more heat than a darker basic film.
What is the difference between XR Black and XR Plus?
Both are ceramic XPEL films. XR Plus is the highest-performance PRIME option, while XR Black offers strong heat rejection at a lower price level. Exact performance varies by VLT.
What is the difference between HP Black and ceramic tint?
HP Black is a value-focused hybrid film. XR Black and XR Plus use ceramic technology and are generally selected when stronger heat rejection is the priority.
Can you tint only the front two windows?
Yes. Many customers choose this coverage for comfort or to coordinate with factory rear privacy glass. An exact color and darkness match cannot always be guaranteed.
Is factory privacy glass already ceramic tint?
Not necessarily. Factory privacy glass may look dark but does not automatically provide the same heat-rejection performance as aftermarket ceramic film.
Can you tint a windshield with a light film?
A light high-performance film may provide heat and UV benefits with minimal visible darkening. Visibility, vehicle technology and applicable law must be considered.
Will window tint interfere with electronics?
Performance depends on film construction. We use the current XPEL product information to help select a film appropriate for phone, radio, Bluetooth and in-cabin systems.
How long does window tint take to cure?
Curing may take approximately one to three weeks depending on temperature, humidity, film type, glass position and vehicle design.
When can I roll down my windows?
Wait at least 48 hours before lowering newly tinted roll-down windows unless Toyz provides different instructions for the specific installation.
Will there be any dust in the tint?
Professional installation aims to minimize contamination. Because tint is installed inside a real vehicle rather than a sealed clean room, a very small amount can occasionally be visible under certain lighting.
How much does window tint cost?
Pricing depends on the year, make, model, film series, exact glass areas, roof glass, windshield size, existing film removal and vehicle design.
